PKN Parkins are a long established practice which commenced in the 1940's. John R Parkin joined the firm of Hammerton and Criddle soon after qualifying in 1965 as a Chartered Accountant (age 21), becoming a partner in the firm on 1st April 1967. Over the years the name of the firm changed, first of all to Hammerton, Criddle, Parkin & Co and then in the mid 70's to Parkin & Co, after Messrs Hammerton and Criddle left the partnership. In 2002 the name of the firm was changed to PKN (loosely built round the Welsh pronunciation of Parkins) moving in 2009 adding Parkins to PKN, which is the present trading name of the practice, ie PKN Parkins.

The introduction of John S Parkin into the partnership after qualifying in June 1999 who ensures that the latest technology is available to be used by the practice and staff. John S Parkin attaining the Sage Line 200 Financial Specialist Certificate in March 2010 and the practice is a member of the Sage Accountants Club.

The PKN Parkins partnership is moving forward and is constantly looking to improve the Chartered Accountancy Service and advice that it provides for its clients. The practice has close links with UK Financial Consultants Limited who have representation on a daily basis in our offices. The Partners and staff of PKN Parkins are friendly and helpful people and aim to make all clients more than welcome when contacting or visiting our offices.

Partners Personal Interests:-

Outside work, which is fair to say, does not leave a great deal of time for personal activities.

John R Parkin F.C.A. enjoys spending time with his five children, their families and friends and still enjoys a game of squash and badminton, if there is one available. After being involved in local cricket all his life playing for the Brecks Cricket Club in the Doncaster & District League for 40 years, Captain for 37 consecutive years and also an ex Chairman of the Doncaster and District Cricket League and current Chairman of Rotherham Town Cricket Club, cricket has to be his favourite sport. Also, he has been a supporter of Rotherham United Football Club since the age of 7.

John S. Parkin A.C.A, F.C.C.A. joined the practice in 2003 with over 15 years accounting experience John S. also heads the firm specialising in accountancy for small and medium sized businesses with extensive experience serving the construction and manufacturing industries.

John S Parkin is a keen runner and enjoys golf and watching a wide range of sports.
